plain-English rules for Maria’s diary. this site is run by Maria’s sister, Augustina. questions? mariasdiarysupport@gmail.com
What you’re buying. A monthly membership to Maria’s diary: a members-only website with video pages, photos, writing, polls and comments. The three tiers (supporter, bestie, inner circle) each unlock different pages, as described on the memberships section of the homepage.
Billing. Memberships renew automatically every month until you cancel. The price you see on the memberships section is the price you pay, charged by Stripe on the same day each month. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal.
Age. You must be 18 or over to buy a membership, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. Accounts are for one person and must not be shared.
Your account. Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. We may close an account that breaks these terms (for example sharing videos, abusive comments or chargebacks), and no refund is given in that case.
What we promise. Maria aims to add a new page every week, but the exact amount and timing of content isn’t guaranteed. If the diary ever closes for good, memberships stop being charged from that point.
Cancel anytime. Cancel from your account page, or email us. Your membership then ends at the close of the month you’ve already paid for, you keep access until that date, and you won’t be charged again. You can change your mind with “keep my membership” until it ends.
No refunds. Payments already made are not refunded, including for unused time in a month. Memberships are a digital service you can use straight away.
Your 14-day cooling-off right. Under UK and EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online and get a refund. Because your access to the diary starts immediately when you join, by joining you expressly agree to the content being made available straight away and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right to cancel for a refund. (This is stated on each tier card before you pay.)
If something’s wrong. If the diary is broken for you (videos won’t play, you were charged but have no access), email us within 14 days and we’ll fix it or, if we can’t, refund that month. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Who we are. Maria’s diary is run by Augustina (Maria’s sister) on Maria’s behalf. Contact: mariasdiarysupport@gmail.com.
What we collect. When you make an account: your name (what you’d like to be called), email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text). When you pay: Stripe’s customer, subscription and invoice IDs, your tier and renewal date. We never see or store your card number. When you use the diary: the comments and poll votes you post, and your video progress (saved only in your own browser).
Why. To run your account and membership, to email you about your account (password resets, payment problems, price changes), to show your name on your comments, and to keep the site safe. The legal basis is the contract with you and our legitimate interest in running the site. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who else sees it. Stripe (payments; see stripe.com/privacy), our email provider (account emails only), and the company hosting the server. Data may be processed in the UK, EU and US with standard safeguards.
How long. While you have an account, and up to 6 years for payment records (tax law). You can delete your account by emailing us; we delete your name and email and keep only the payment records we must keep.
Your rights. You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or complain to the UK Information Commissioner (ico.org.uk) or your local data authority. Email us and we’ll reply within a month.
We use one cookie: a login cookie that keeps you signed in. It’s strictly necessary for the site to work, so no cookie banner is needed. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser’s own storage remembers where you got to in each video and which filter you last picked; that stays on your device.
Maria’s videos, photos and writing are for members to watch on this site only. Please don’t download, record, screenshot, re-post or share them anywhere else — that’s copyright infringement and ends your membership.
Your comments and votes. You keep ownership of what you write, and you give us permission to show it on the site. Be kind: no abuse, hate, bullying, spam or anything illegal. We filter offensive language and Maria can remove any note. Keep personal details (yours or anyone else’s) out of comments.
Not professional advice. Skin, hair and make-up routines are Maria’s own experience, not medical advice — patch-test products and ask a professional if you’re unsure.
Email mariasdiarysupport@gmail.com for anything at all. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights. Last updated: October 2026.
